NVSA Newsletter September 2004

Hello All,

The September Match and Banquet is less than two weeks away. Everything is coming together nicely. The food will be catered; this will give Glen a chance to shoot this year! It also means it won't be potluck, you will need only to bring your beverages (non-alcoholic). Your family and friends are welcome to come for either the match or BBQ or both. If you have a friend who wants to try IDPA this will be a great match. We will have 4 quick and easy stages. After the match is over we'll have lunch, the shoot-off, the Prize Table, Awards and the drawing for the Springfield 1911. We will also have the drawing for the Match Directors, I need to know who were the match directors for October 2003.

There will be a few other new things this year, first all members shoot for free! We will have special awards this year for the following: 1st Place in each Classification, High Overall, High Lady, Shoot-Off Winner and High CCW. The last award “High CCW” will get us back to the “Defensive” part of IDPA. It will be awarded to the person with the best score using their real carry gun. Here's how it will work; bring your CCW permit to the sign-up table, shoot a gun that's on your permit, using a carry type holster, that's it.

You may have received a call from someone inquiring on how many people are coming with you to the match. If you have not yet received a call, please send me an email with the number of people in your party.  <mailto:brian@hallsharley.com>brian@hallsharley.com It's VERY important that we get a count for the food. Our cook has volunteered to do the cooking, the club is paying for the food. We don't want to run out, but we also don't want to buy more food than we need!

One last thing, we are playing a game that uses the “Honor System” in that there are many ways you can skirt around the rules, play in the grey area, game it, to win.

But, what did we win?

See you Sunday,

Brian
