Dear North Valley Shooters, As I write this, Rush Limbaugh is pontificating on the radio in the background, the national election is still under attack and the Thanksgiving leftovers are finally all gone. Like most of you, I'm sick at heart about how this whole thing keeps dragging on. Luckily, we'll be having our own elections. We guarantee a fair, fast, election (with no recounts). With that said, let's get started |

Election Nominations:It's time to elect new club officers. All of our current officers are happy to serve again, but we also welcome some new blood. In order to make sure that all of our members get a chance, the nominations are now open. If you want to nominate any other member (or yourself) for any position, please either call me at (530) 671-6397 or e-mail me at monaboyd@succeed.net. We will accept all nominations through December 15, 2000. After that, you'll each receive a ballot (with self addressed envelope). We'll announce our new officers at our January Match and via postcard to all members.

October Match ResultsCal Springer probably began preparing to be our October Match Director about five months before the match. He made up special targets, drew course designs that rivaled the blueprints for my house and generally worked himself to a nubbins. The result was one of our most challenging matches we've ever had. A lot of people were dumbfounded by the shoot/no-shoot demands the courses required. The mental aspects of the courses were truly fascinating. Thanks Cal. When the dust settled, Jim Cyrun was top Unclassified, Bill Sexton was top Novice, Keton Ranchod won the coveted Marksman title, Chris Hill took top Sharpshooter honors, John Osbourn was top Expert (and 2nd overall) and I kept it together long enough to take top Master (thanks for going deer hunting Dave) |
November Match ResultsDave Wallace, and I were your faithful November match directors. This was our annual Turkey Shoot. Our stages involved the yearly big bird feast (except for stage one, which was ripped right from the pages of the 2000 California IDPA State Championships). Our shooters had to brave the annual Turkey Hunt (18 plates, 18 rounds, 25 seconds - Verrrrry Harrrrd!!!), make a mad "turkey run" and complete one of those "speed standards". When all the feathers settled, Dave Wallace was the top drumstick. Dave won by a commanding 4 ˝ seconds!!. Dave was followed closely by #1 Expert Don Applegarth (Too good!!! - welcome to Master). Alan Reinhart shot with a cold, steady hand and took top Sharpshooter. DC Hirsch was top unclassified. Bart Santti aced out the rest of the Marksmen. Chris Worland was our best Novice. The match was a good one. Too bad deer and elk season ended so soon. *Complete match results can be found on the Match Results page. |
